After a discussion/
slide-show

by Betty at Alberta Scuba Divers Council AGM, members treated her to a remarkable week of October diving including a night dive through a sunken dam in Lake Minewanka, Banff National Park; a dive to see a small wreck with metal “beaver” relics scattered around it at Waterton Lake National Park where the beavers served as money in the early days; beaver money relicsand an exotic dive in Patricia Lake near Jasper to explore the prototype of a ship built of ice following — it is said — the inspiration of Winston Churchill who thought an aircraft carrier of ice might be as unsinkable as an iceberg is. When World War Two ended the incomplete aircraft carrier model was scuttled — under water it looked like the back of a giant refrigerator.
Who knows — it might have worked!
